Huge Artwork Sale!!!

Last week our dear cat Fidget got attacked by a dog. Marcus and the wonderful team from vets @ st clair tried their very best to save her but unfortunately she didn't make it.

In order to help pay for the huge vet bill, I have opened up my private collection and all the paintings of mine that I was planning to keep are now for sale on Trade Me at prices well below even 1/2 of what I'd have them for sale for in a gallery.

Also by the end of the month I will have all the pieces back from the NZ Art Guild South Island members exhibition which will also be added to Trade Me at greatly reduced prices. Keep an eye out for these!

New Website!

I have a new website YAY! (the other one through artfind is no-longer available) I'm still working on getting all my photos loaded but I've started. You can either click the link on the right hand side of the screen or go to www.nzartguild.co.nz and type Tanya Dann into the search function and you'll find me :)

Ceramics Efforts

This is my first piece in my ceramics workshop. I have created this beautifully smooth body-like form and then glazed it with a very organic looking glaze. There will be a whole series of these pieces with different glazes on them. This peice and the series are as yet untitled.

NZ Art Guild Masters Challenge

Every month NZ Art Guild members are given an artist master to use as inspiration for a work of their own. Last months master was Andy Warhol (one of my personal faves!). I submitted the following piece and was lucky enough to be voted 'Most Creative Use of Theme' by my fellow guild artists for my efforts

'Sir Ed'
Acrylic on Watercolour Paper
150 x 105mm

Playing with Photoshop and Illustrator

For once I've actually been enjoying my digital classes at school. The last few week's have been learning to create digtal works with Photoshop and Illustrator.
Further details about this work can be viewed on my artschool blog

This image was created in photoshop and was inspired by the work of Martha Rosler.

This is a vector image of myself created in Illustrator. Over 10 hours of work went into creating this piece.

Bearish Things

Yay, my sewing machine is finally fixed - which means I got to start sewing more bearish things! Here's the latest 6:

Some of these will be destined for the Starship Hospital Fundraiser I'm involved in, I haven't decided which ones yet, but I'll be donating at least 4 of them.

Ok.... Just breathe.....

Wow what a hectic couple of weeks!!!! Not alot done art wise for me, other than school stuff! Did manage to finally get my digital project completed. We had to create a video loop using adobe premier pro. My very basic video has been loaded to my art school blog - if anyone wants a look you can visit http://tanyadann-artschoolartblog.blogspot.com/ my editing could have used a little work, ok a LOT of work, but I've been so busy with Art Guild stuff and all my other classes. Maybe if I hadn't left it all till the last minute (as per usual).... hmmm, maybe next time.... Yeah Right... LOL!

Another Day ANOTHER Project...

The latest project I've started is handmade xmas decorations. These first ones are made with ping pong balls.

I'm making these to donate to a fundraising market stall that the Starship Foundation are going to have in November to raise money for new head cooling caps for the intensive care unit at Starship Children's hospital.

Some of my fellow NZ Art Guild Members will be joining me in this and anyone else who wishes to join in may do so - just flick me an email!

I've made a few extras as well so if you are interested in purchasing some of these xmas pudding decorations for your xmas tree email me - 6 pieces = $15 (NZD) plus postage

More Bearish Things

All the previous ones have new homes so here's the latest Bearish Things - including a new style...

(I have loads more cut out, just waiting for the sewing machine to get fixed!!! LOL)
